Proactive Artist Manager Cover Letter Example

Dear Ms. Harvey,

I am writing to inquire about a position with your company as an artist manager. I feel I have a lot to offer your company, and any clients I am responsible for through this position.

After graduating from Ferris State University with a Music Industry Management Degree, I completed an internship in Nashville with a leading music production company. My internship gave me extensive contacts within the music industry field that will serve me well in this position.

After my internship was completed, I spent four years working for the same company. Although I enjoy my position there, I would like to take on more responsibilities and I believe that the position with your company would allow me to do so. I’m more than willing to travel often with clients to ensure their concerts go off without a hitch.

As an artist manager with your company, you can expect me to be an excellent team leader with strong PR skills and a solid head for accounting. I am an excellent negotiator, and have been called friendly but aggressive. I also am experienced in the discovery process, having held auditions and many private interviews. None of my chosen musicians have failed to find success in their market genre. I know how difficult some artists can be to work with, and have no problem taking on the clients that need the most careful handling.

I find nothing more satisfying than helping a musician or band reach the heights of their success. I look forward to hearing from you in order to discuss this position further.
