Dear Ms. Alice Smith,

I would like to apply for the Barber position at Puma’s Barber Shop, Inc. and have attached my resume.

I have graduated from MILLI Barbering & Beauty School and have also completed an apprenticeship as well as passed the State Board examination for beauticians and barbers. I am fully licensed and have had a great deal of practical experience in working with a wide range of clients. I prefer working on men which is why I am applying as a barber rather than a beautician who deal mainly with women’s hair. I understand the issue in dealing with all facets of men’s grooming techniques.

I can do many different types of men’s haircuts including shaving designs into the heads of those who request it. I also offer shaves and facial grooming as well as cutting hair. I have been trained in coloring techniques for those men who may want to hide their gray hair or who want a totally different look and color that is away from the norm.

At my previous position I was in charge of the shop when the manager was not in and learned a great deal about shop management, scheduling appointments and booking in clients when they came for their appointment. I also worked with those clients who have skin issues and helped them to learn how to treat their skin to make it clearer.
