I would like to apply for the school bus driver position now available at Durham School Services. I’m a graduate from Hampshire College and I’m actively pursuing a career in the educational field. I hold a class “D” driver’s license, a good driving record and the knowledge to drive the vehicle without difficulty. I’m responsible, dependable and have the ability to concentrate in a loud and changing environment.

I understand the importance of maintaining a safe environment at all times for the children and have the ability to maintain control. Keeping order and disciplining unruly students according to school procedures is a vital part of the job and must be dealt with professionally.

I also understand the importance of staying focused, learning the route, getting to know the children at the bus stops and making sure no unauthorized persons are allowed on the bus. I have the ability to read and follow written and oral instructions, fill out and maintain paperwork correctly and administer first-aid if needed. I hold current certificates in CPR and first aid.
