Information Technology Cover Letter

Dear Ms. Genoveva Gould,

I would like to be considered for a position within the information technology department at your company DRS Technologies. For your convenience and perusal I have attached my resume and references to this document.

I currently hold a bachelor’s degree in information technology and have worked in this industry for many years while staying on top of the ever changing technological advancements. In my prior position, my interpersonal and communication skills came in when I was tasked with training employees and support staff on the management system and all operating systems the company utilized. I also researched, analyzed and assessed new technologies for instruction applications to improve learning outcomes. This included arranging technologies’ demonstrations that were used for all employee and support staff instruction.

My main goal was to encourage and support the execution of new instructional technologies and to manage the content of the central digital repository and databases along with all computerized media. I always kept updated on current issues, emerging technologies and instructional applications in order to oversee and diagnose system problems on Websites, Networks, Windows, Unix and Proprietary Applications. This included supporting the production environments to guarantee the meeting of service and operating levels.

I am also able to determine and resolve end user hardware and software issues and can troubleshoot and resolve all peripheral equipment issues. When necessary, I am able to create and manage detailed documentation on all issues and can manage databases and report to all department heads.
