Dear Ms. Lisa Whitehead,

I would like to be considered for the developmental service worker position that is open at DP Technology Services, Inc.

I have a bachelor’s degree in social work and am a certified as a developmental service worker. I have worked with people in many different ages groups who have developmental disabilities. I have learned and created my own strategies to provide support that is respectful to all clients. I have a great deal of experience in both the private and public sectors and have helped people with a wide range of physical, mental and development disabilities.

I am very passionate about helping people who need support to deal with their disabilities. I love challenges and nothing is more challenging than this field but the intrinsic rewards are worth it. I am mature and flexible and understand that it takes creativity to get to the end result. I am just as effective when working in a team environment as when working on my own. I have great observational skills and can assess both verbal and nonverbal behaviors.

My long term goal is to find a position that offers me the challenges that I seek and the added benefit of stability. I would like the chance to discuss with you your needs in a developmental social worker further to see if I would fit into your organization. I am certain that I would be an asset and would offer your clients the help and care that they deserve.
