Promising Beginning Teacher Cover Letter Example

Dear Ms. Lori Edwards,

I am applying for the Beginning Teacher position that has recently opened up in your school Lawrence Public Schools.

I have earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and have also worked as a student teacher for over two years. I am also licensed to teach in this state and have proven my competence as an elementary school teacher both on the job and during examinations. I am highly creative and did not have a problem working with the children when I was completing my student teaching stint. I love working with children and have an affinity even working with those who are more demanding than others.

Among my other skills is a high degree of patience which is a good thing when working with younger children who are just starting out their schooling. This is when I feel it is important to get them interested in learning to help build a solid foundation for their later years. I have a high degree of knowledge of all the subjects that are taught in this grade as well as all the others in this school.

I would not be opposed to taking any type of skills test that you would require for me to attain employment. I know as a beginning teacher that I would have to work twice as hard to prove myself but I am ready for the challenge. I would hope that you would allow me
