Award Acceptance Letter
When you are lucky enough to receive an award, the most professional and courteous thing to do is write a nice award acceptance letter. This will show that you are worthy of the honor and a person with good manners and integrity. It is also important to give an official notification of your acceptance of the award. Although you are understandably excited and perhaps even emotional about winning an award, you should still know how to write a formal and cordial letter of acceptance. Here is a helpful little guide to writing your letter professionally and sincerely.
Format and Content
Since you want to come across as responsibly and professionally as possible, take care to write in a formal style with proper grammar and spelling. An official award acceptance format will include about three paragraphs, wherein you will formally acknowledge your acceptance and gratitude for those who recommended you. Show your enthusiasm and appreciation in an appropriate manner and do not forget to sign and date the letter in the proper places as will be shown below in a sample. If you must fill out any forms in order to claim the award, remember to enclose them with the letter.
Sample
If you are not quite sure what you should say in your letter, you may find looking at an example to be very helpful. Here is an award acceptance letter sample from a company manager who has been awarded a trip. She wishes to make an official notification of her award acceptance and show her gratitude. She writes formally but allows her appreciation to show through. Also, she remembers to give her contact information in case anyone needs to contact her about the award.

I am very pleased and grateful to accept the award and look forward with delight to the all expenses paid trip. I am glad to have led my branch of Smith Communications to such success this year and look forward to many more years of the same.
