Art Teacher Recommendation Letter
Art teacher recommendation letters may be written by current employers, college professors, church leaders, neighbors or other friends and acquaintances of the job applicant. Employers typically do not want recommendation letters to be written by relatives. They can be written for applicants who are graduating from college or changing jobs.

This sample art teacher recommendation letter is from a professor at a university who taught the job applicant in several classes. Although the applicant has never worked professionally as an art teacher, she has worked successfully for one year as a student teacher which is required for her degree program.
I am writing to encourage you to hire Erin Fields as the new art teacher at Garden Hills Elementary School. She has been an outstanding student whom I have had the pleasure of teaching in several of my classes here at XYZ University. Erin excelled in the art history, art production, assessment in art education and instructional strategies classes that I taught over the last two years. She turned in excellent work both in terms of written reports, curriculum strategies, creative lesson plans and actual art work. Erin is graduating Magna Cum Laude with a grade point average of 3.75 in June and is more than prepared to assume full responsibility of an art classroom.
Erin fulfilled her student teaching requirements over the last eight months by serving as an assistant to the art teacher at Heartland Elementary School which is just off the XYZ University campus. The teacher, Mrs. Heather Kelly, returned stellar reports on Erin’s performance in the classroom, particularly regarding her ability to engage the students and motivate them to stretch their imaginations and explore unique art techniques. Mrs. Kelly further communicated that Erin displayed excellent organizational skills, was always prompt and prepared for class, and expertly handled any disciplinary issues among the students in the classroom.
It has been my pleasure to not only work with Erin in a classroom setting, but to work with her on various art exhibits and other events at XYZ University. She played a major role in organizing the twenty-third annual student art exhibition this spring and we enjoyed record attendance by students, parents, faculty and art enthusiasts in the community. A skilled water color painter, Erin donated some of her works to the annual XYZ County Chapter of the American Cancer Society to be sold in a silent auction fundraiser and raised over $5,000 for the cause.
I hope that you will consider hiring Erin Fields to fill the open art teacher position at Garden Hills Elementary School. I am confident that you would be pleased having Erin serve on your teaching staff. If you have any questions or would like to discuss anything further, please feel free to contact me at (555)-555-5555 or send me an email at [email] My office hours are 3:30p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Sincerely Yours,
Anthony Richards
