This is a sample dental school interview thank you letter from a prospective student who was interviewed by a professor, given a tour of the dental school and an opportunity to talk with some of the students currently enrolled in the school and working toward their doctor of dental medicine degrees.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to you for taking so much time out of your busy day to conduct my interview for dental school. It has been my dream for many years to become a pediatric dentist and I have been working very hard to that end. There is little more important than starting children out on the right track for a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums. I also want to thank you for patiently answering all of my questions in regards to the specific courses in pediatric tooth and gum care offered at XYZ School of Dentistry.
In addition, I greatly appreciate the opportunity to tour the dental school. I was highly impressed with the cutting edge technology and hope to have a chance to learn how to use all of the impressive equipment. The tour of the campus, classrooms and labs further sealed my desire to attend XYZ School of Dentistry for the remainder of my education. I believe I would be a good fit and would consider it a great privilege to be accepted for enrollment.
I am anxious to learn some of the new techniques for filling cavities in children as it is important to me to make a visit to the dentist’s office as pleasant as possible for small children. As we discussed, I visit elementary schools in my community and present an educational and entertaining program that I wrote which teaches children how to properly care for their teeth and gums and emphasizes the importance of dental care. Should I be accepted at XYZ School of Dentistry, it is my desire to present my program to the local school board for the purpose of taking it into the elementary schools in XYZ City.
One of the most helpful parts of the interview process was the opportunity to speak with students who are currently enrolled in the program. I found them to be enthusiastic about their courses and motivated to become leaders in the world of dentistry. I appreciate being able to listen to their advice and ask questions. That part of the interview process was the most useful in helping me to understand the day-to-day requirements of the dental program at XYZ.
Please contact me if there is anything else you need and thank you again for the interview.
Warm Regards,
Susanne Waters
