Job Change Announcement Letter
A job change announcement letter lets clients and colleagues know whenever an employee that they deal with on a regular basis has taken a different position within the company. That way, they will become aware of the change before it takes effect, and will know a little bit about their new point of contact as well.
Format and Content
A job change announcement letter format includes information about an employee’s new position within a given company as well as the date this change will become effective. It then briefly introduces the individual who will be assuming that person’s new role, along with his or her contact information for future reference. These letters may be written to a number of different clients, with each one being tailored to each particular one.
Sample
This job change announcement letter sample is being written from the sales director of a medical supply firm to the buyer of a local hospital, informing them that their current salesperson will be taking a different position within the company. It notifies them of the effective date of the change, and informally introduces their new sales representative to them. At the end of the letter, contact information is given, and the customer is reassured that the sales director will also be available to answer questions during the transitional period as well.
I am writing to inform you that effective August 30, 2013, your current sales representative Martha Maguire will no longer be servicing your account. Ms. Maguire has decided to take a position in our Human Resources department instead. We have hired Tom Dillman to handle all of the accounts that Ms. Maguire previously handled.
Mr. Dillman comes to us with more than 20 years worth of experience in medical supply and equipment sales. He previously served as a medical supply specialist for the Illinois National Guard, and then used the skills he gained there to secure employment with ABC Medical Equipment, where he also sold supplies and equipment to medical facilities just like yours.
In order to make sure the transition goes as smoothly as possible, Ms. Maguire will be spending some time with Mr. Dillman before assuming her role in Human Resources. She will be calling on clients with him next week, and will personally drop by your location in order to introduce him on Tuesday.
We are confident that our new sales representative will continue to give you the same level of service you have been accustomed to receiving from Martha Maguire. Please feel free to contact Mr. Dillman at (555)-555-5555, or email him at [email] Of course, you can always contact me if you have questions or concerns as well. I can be reached at (555)-555-5555 or [email] We look forward to continuing to serve you.
Sincerely,
Karen Shelby
