Medical Assistant Recommendation Letter
A medical assistant recommendation letter is for an individual who has experience assisting a nurse, doctor or physician’s assistant in a medical office setting. Such a letter is typically written by someone in a medical practice who has supervised and observed the quality of work done by the medical assistant.

This sample medical assistant recommendation letter is for an assistant who is a victim of downsizing. The medical practice is being reduced in size due to the retirement of two physicians. The medical assistants with the least years’ service are being laid off, but the doctors are providing recommendation letters.
It is with sorrow that we are forced to cut our medical assistant staff in half due to the impending retirement of two physicians in our family practice. We have no plans to take on additional physicians. The practice will be reduced from a four-physician corporation to a two-physician partnership. The medical assistants are being let go or kept on based upon their years of service. Julie Jones joined the practice as a medical assistant two years ago right after she graduated from the medical assistant program at our local technical college. She graduated with honors and has maintained a high caliber performance during her two years with this practice.
Julie is flexible and cooperative performing a multitude of tasks each day including checking patients’ vital signs, drawing blood, administering injections, cleaning instruments and exam rooms and performing administrative duties like updating medical records, answering the phone, scheduling appointments and any other duties she is asked to perform. Julie is kind and compassionate when dealing with patients of all ages. The patients who visit our practice frequently have gotten to know Julie well and are very fond of her. She not only performs her duties almost flawlessly, but is an exceptionally likeable person with a cheerful disposition.
We have been a very busy practice, but Julie has always been able to keep up with the fast pace. She is a talented multi-tasker who rarely makes a mistake of any kind. She is very patient with the chronically ill individuals that we treat as well as those with minor sicknesses and injuries. Julie is extremely well-organized, self-motivated, requires little supervision and has always been a highly ethical employee. A warm and approachable medical assistant, Julie has the ability to explain discharge instructions to patients in a clear and professional manner that they can easily understand.
It is our pleasure to recommend Julie Jones for a position as a medical assistant in your practice. She has been a joy to work with these past two years and we hate to let her go. We will be happy to answer any questions or discuss her qualifications with you at length and at your convenience.
