It is with great enthusiasm that I am submitting my application for admittance into the Interior Design Institute. I am currently a senior at the Austin Academy for the Gifted and will graduate this spring. I have researched the various art programs offered by universities in the South Texas area and firmly believe the one offered by your institution offers the best plan based on my personal career goals and objectives.
My interest in interior design revealed itself at the age of three when I received a dollhouse for Christmas. I spent countless hours decorating and redecorating the rooms in the house, often by using scraps of material and other miscellaneous items I found in our house. I benefited greatly by parents who encouraged my decorating desire by allowing me to experiment by redesigning rooms in our home. In high school, I served as an intern at the Savory Design Firm where I learned the business side of interior design.
In high school, my grades allowed me to take dual-credit classes. As a result, I will begin my undergraduate studies with 12 college credits logged in the earned column. This summer, I will be traveling to Italy and Paris with a group of students to study architecture and design. I am extremely dedicated to my goal of a successful career in the interior design industry. I am a motivated student who believes in education and experience as the path to success. The hands-on programs provided by your institution will allow me to grow and develop as a talented professional in this field.
I am enclosing my application packet along with letters of recommendation for your consideration. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have or to send additional materials if needed. You may reach me by phone at (555)-555-5555 or by email at [email] Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Sara Wilson
